Welcome to the Gametable Project


  Gametable is a shared whiteboard client optimized for the tabletop gaming experience. It is written in Java to offer broad cross-platform support and holds simplicity and ease of use as it’s highest ideals, while still supporting the needs of the game. The learning curve with Gametable is virtually non-existent. Gametable comes with pre-installed image sets, enabling the immediate creation of custom content.
  Among the included features are Dice-rolling, Dice macros, Rulers, Tiles and Avatars-called Underlays and Pogs, Simple drawing tools, and Simple card and deck support.
  Best of all, Gametable is Open Source, and is free for all to download, use, and enjoy!

Gametable 2.0.RC7 released

This release has seen some major bug fixes and a host of new features. Enjoy!

  • [Fix] Hitmap issues with resized pogs
  • [Fix] Hitmap issues when loading saved maps
  • [Fix] Image clipping on rotated pogs
  • [Fix] Host game dialog correctly titled "Host a game" rather than "Join a game"
  • [Fix] Multiple minor bug fixes and code clean up.

  • [New] Additional map layers. From bottom to top: Underlays, Overlays, (lines), Environment, and Pogs. Ability to move existing pog between layers.
  • [New] Chat window optionally divisible into "chat" and "mechanics" windows. When active, all dice rolls and system messages are posted to the mechanics window.
  • [New] Variable map background colors.
  • [New] Save, Load, and Copy pogs with attributes.
  • [New] Easy method of translating Gametable into new languages. Still working through the code to extract all hardcoded English.
  • [New] Quick method for adding attributes to a pog.

  • [Change] Holding shift while using Publish Tool allows you to publish locked pogs and underlays.
  • [Change] Grid snapping method with rotated pogs. Menu toggle for switching between the new method and the original method.
  • [Change] Enhancements to main Gametable menu.
  • [Change] Log files now stored to "logs" folder.
  • [Change] Significant code rewrite and relocation, including addition of packages gametable.ui.chat and gametable.lang


Gametable 2.0.RC6 released

This release addresses several annoying issues as well as a few more major ones. Over all, this release makes Gametable a bit more stable and easier to use. This release has been made possible by Lotharious, who has contributed greatly to finding and fixing problems with the code base.

  • [Fix] Continued changes to pogs and underlays to further improve the system.
  • [Fix] Fixed issue with players disconnecting and still showing connected.
  • [Fix] Chat system lag and potential for program crash fixed. All chat features from earlier versions work.
  • [Fix] Rotation issues at various map zooms have been fixed.
  • [Fix] Issue with save files still saving with wrong extension fixed.
  • [Change] Pogs now sorted alphabetically in the pog library without regards to capitalization.
  • [New] A menu option has been added to lock or unlock all pogs and underlays on the map.

  • [Change] Rearrangement of files and packages within the Gametable project to bring them more in list with an MVC architectural pattern.

Minimum Requirements
Gametable has a few minimum requirements:

  • A computer with the Java Runtime Environment installed
  • A mouse and keyboard or other equivalent input device
  • 256MB RAM, though more is suggested
  • Internet or LAN access, while not required is suggested to enable internet use

Pen and Paper Games is a forum designed for PnP gamers to find groups for online play. They recently teamed up with Obsidian portal in a collaborative game matching effort and are now in concert considered to be one of the top game matching sites available.

d20 Pathfinder SRD is currently the top unofficial reference to the recently released Pathfinder update to the 3.5 Dungeons & Dragons ruleset. Modeled after the d20srd.com site, it is a friendly and useful reference to the latest in "3.75" Pathfinder SRD material. This site is updated as fast as, and on occasion faster, than the official PRD site.
